Walking in Kent

Bekesbourne Explorers

We've been going for over ten years. We walk on the first Wednesday of every month. We meet at Bekesbourne Village Hall at 9.45am to get directions and share lifts. Our walks are circular and last approximately 3 to 5 miles - circa 1 and a half hours. We avoid very steep or difficult walks and go at a moderate pace. We aim to be back in Bekesbourne by lunchtime (unless we decide to have lunch out). Numbers vary: can be as many as fifteen but more usually eight to ten. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and we usually have two or three. Whenever possible we theme the walk to the season.

We've renamed ourselves the Bekesbourne Explorers because our aim is to get out into the East Kent countryside and follow paths and byways where we have not been before. Bekesbourne walks are open to men and women from all over the Canterbury district. The contact is Jill Thomas on 01227 832573 or e-mail Jill Thomas
